Compulsory installation of solar panels on industrial roofs in Flanders
Readpreviousinsight
All industrial sites with a yearly electricity offtake of more than 1 GWh and all government buildings with more than 250 MWh offtake must install solar panels on the roof, marginal areas, car ports, bicycle parking, or façade equivalent to 12,5 Wp/m² horizontal roof area. The quota for performance will increase in 2030 to 18,75 Wp/m² and in 2035 to 25 Wp/m². The required capacity can be compensated by investment in wind turbine or bio-CHP, or by participating in other renewable energy projects.
